Seattle police are searching for two suspects involved in an armed robbery that targeted an elderly man in the city’s Madison Park neighborhood Tuesday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 3:20 p.m. in the 2200 block of 38th Place East. According to the Seattle Police Department, an 87-year-old man had just returned home and was pulling into his driveway when he was ambushed by two individuals armed with firearms.

Authorities say the suspects appeared to have been lying in wait, parked nearby in a separate driveway. As the man exited his vehicle, the two suspects rushed him, guns drawn, and forcibly took his Rolex wristwatch, valued at approximately $45,000.

The victim was not physically harmed during the robbery. The suspects fled the scene before police were called and had already left the area by the time officers arrived.

The Robbery Unit has taken over the investigation and is working to determine how the suspects knew the victim’s location and whether he was specifically targeted.
