Deputies Remove Uncooperative Pair Found Sleeping in Truck at Puyallup Station

Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man after a tense confrontation at a Puyallup gas station where a utility truck had been parked for over an hour with two people asleep inside.

According to a social media post from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), deputies responded to the scene and discovered a man and woman unresponsive inside the vehicle. When deputies spotted drug paraphernalia in plain view and the occupants refused to exit or unlock the doors, they escalated the situation.

Bodycam footage released by PCSO shows deputies breaking a window to gain access. The man, who resisted, was tased before being pulled from the truck.

Deputies later identified the man as 52 years old and found him in possession of approximately 365 grams of methamphetamine and a .38 caliber handgun. He was also wanted on a federal warrant.

The woman, who was with him in the truck, was released at the scene but is expected to face charges for obstruction, officials said.

The incident remains under investigation.
