ICE Seattle Arrests Mexican National Tied to Drug Trafficking in Bellingham

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Seattle have arrested a 36-year-old Mexican national, Victor Ambrocio Alcala-Arellanes, who was previously convicted of drug trafficking in Whatcom County. Alcala-Arellanes was apprehended in Bellingham, Washington, and is now in ICE custody awaiting removal proceedings.

The arrest took place on March 20, 2024, following a joint investigation into suspected drug trafficking activities. According to law enforcement reports, Alcala-Arellanes, along with four accomplices, was found in possession of 3.24 pounds of suspected powdered fentanyl. In addition to the drugs, authorities discovered a sawed-off shotgun, numerous small plastic bags, a scale with drug residue, and over $6,000 in cash during the arrest operation.

Alcala-Arellanes was booked on charges related to the possession of fentanyl with the intent to distribute. Law enforcement officials have confirmed that this operation is part of a broader effort to combat illegal drug trafficking in the region.
