Authorities in Pierce County are actively searching for two individuals linked to a burglary that took place at a McDonald’s restaurant in Tacoma earlier this year. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on March 8 at the location on 22nd Avenue East, according to a Facebook post from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
Surveillance footage shows a woman acting as a lookout while a male suspect used a pry bar to break into a self-service kiosk’s cash box. The crime unfolded during normal business hours, with customers and staff nearby.
Although the exact amount of cash taken hasn’t been disclosed, the damage caused during the burglary was significant. The suspects left the scene having caused more than $17,000 in property damage, dealing a serious blow to the restaurant’s operations.
