Seattle police arrested a 41-year-old man early Tuesday morning after he allegedly caused chaos inside a Capitol Hill bar—throwing a keg, groping women, and threatening to shoot patrons.
The incident unfolded shortly after midnight at a tavern in the 1400 block of East Olive Way, where police say the man became aggressive, launched a full beer keg, and threw a bottle at a bartender.
“He was harassing people and making threats, including telling them he was going to shoot them,” said SPD Detective Eric Muñoz.
In addition to the physical outburst, the man reportedly groped several women, prompting a sexual motivation allegation in the case.

By the time officers arrived at the bar, the suspect had already fled the scene. He was soon located nearby, driving with an open alcoholic beverage in his vehicle. Officers pulled him over and placed him under arrest.
Police say the suspect was under a court order to have an ignition interlock device installed in his car—equipment that requires a driver to pass a breathalyzer test before starting the vehicle. He did not have the device installed.
After the arrest, officers took the man to a local hospital to obtain a blood sample for the DUI investigation. However, the situation escalated again.
“He became uncooperative and disruptive at the hospital,” Muñoz explained. “At one point, he kicked one of the officers.”
No major injuries were reported, but the suspect now faces a long list of charges.
He was booked for three counts of assault, including one involving an officer. He also faces two counts with sexual motivation enhancements, harassment, DUI, driving without an ignition interlock device, and operating a vehicle with a suspended or revoked license (third degree).
